Monochrome

Monochrome

We are not entirely sure why we called this one Monochrome. There is an orange sofa. There is a black wall. The contrast is obvious and you could absolutely argue with the name. But somehow the way the orange light bleeds through the geometric details and wraps around the raw stone, something in our designer’s imagination registered it all as one cohesive tone. One mood. One world. We liked it. The name stayed. This was another sofa model built for furniture brand Mille, this time placed in something far less domestic. We wanted geometry, boldness, and raw materials. A wall of unfinished rock that looks like it was carved out of the earth. Clean lines that push against that wildness. A space that feels more like a statement than a living room. The brief was to show the sofa in a less residential context. What we built was something closer to a gallery. Or maybe a cave with very good taste. Somewhere halfway through the process we looked at each other and said it reminded us of a space straight out of Dune! The clients were thrilled. And we celebrated with orange juice, which felt right given the color palette.
